I"M GOING TO MISS MY JOB

This year, working at the elemantry school, was my all time favorite job ever!!! When i told joel this he asked if i changed my mind and wanted to be a teacher now. I said NO WAY. i've seen what it takes to teach 1st graders and my brains are not set up to be a teacher.

On friday we had out track and feild day. Those were my all time favorite days in middle school. In juinor high we got to go to Alhambra High School and run on the track against other schools. We also had the track and feild day at our schools against all the kids in our grade. My proudest moment in 6th grade was getting the high score for the girls. I was the best athlet out of all the 6th grade girls. that made my track years the best!!!

I don't remember doing track day when i was in first grade but it was fun to teach my first graders. I taught them how to do long jump. And tri-hop and how to run a relay. I had a blast being apart of their track memories.

Firday was my last day of work since i have finals on monday and tuesday then tuesday i'm moving out of my apartment and heading to my aunts til kerri and brad get in then heading to my parents for the summer.

My class made me a book with pictures and every kid wrote me a letter. I will forever cherish the things they told me in those letters. they also got me a minnie mouse watch "for all the time i spent with them." and they gave me starburst "because i'm a star for helping them".

I'm going to miss my 1st graders and my teacher!!!!

End of school year

My class regular class at Eastern Arizona was on friday.

No matter how long i've been in school the first day is always so exciting. I always wake up too early in the morning and start getting ready which doesn't take long because i lay my brand new outfit and night before. Then i end up walking around my house, or apartment until it's time to leave. I end up leaving to early and get to school and sit at my new spot which i will sit in every day for the rest of the year for ten minutes and school begins.

Then the end of the school year comes and i'm very excited. I think of all that i've learned.. i think of all that i've done. and i always get a tiny bit sad.

If you talk to me during the year i comment that i can't wait for it to be over. I say ugh like i'm even learning anything. Then at the end of the year i'm so glad it's over, i just need a summer break. But really i'm sad. YES i'm glad classes are over. i'm glad learning in a school sense is done and i get 3 months off. BUt deep down i love to learn and love being in school. What will my years be like when i'm not a full time student. I'm going to miss the start of school and the end of school.

Enough blah blahh blahing.. I'm glad for this year and i'll i learned.
This was my hardest semester that i had taken in school. i like to think that i got through with flying colors =]

Going into the finals which are on monday and tuesday, in anatomy my favorite class ever, i have a 96.4%!!!!! This is the very most exciting thing for me this semester. EVERYONE told me how hard this class was! Not to brag but i'm so thankful that it all just makes sense in my brain and that i have an A and will get an A in the class... always a good thing since i'm going to be a nurse. In nutrition i have an A as well. no surprise there since i already took a nutrition class but it was only a 100 not a 200 course so i had to retake it. I'm just glad i made it through all the very boring and lame classes. In my work out class i got 30 vists and 34 hours so i will have an A in there too. In my pharmacology class sadly i think i'll be gettting a B. BUT i'm ok with a B because that class really is the hardest class i've ever taken and a lot of things to rememeber. I understand everything but if you gave me the pills you were taking i don't think i'd be able to figure out what you were taking them for. except my sister kerri becuase i know she has asthma and when we learned about that i paid close attention because i've been around her drugs my whole life which are the only drugs i've ever been around so i wanted to understand what she takes and why. So all in all i should end up with 3 A's and one B. IF all goes to plan =] =] =]

Update on Scholarship

SO I went down to Phoenix to get my $900 at the Board meeting where they give out the scholarships, and when i sat down to look at my check i got a little surprise..

Instead of a check it said, "congradulations! You have been choosen to recieve the BHHS legacy foundation scholarship."

I was very surprised. Now i have to fill out a financil need paper and then go in for an interview and they will let me know sometime in JUNE if i got it and how much i'll receive. Then i'll have to attend another award ceramony.

I'm thinking if they give me a lot then i might just go to Weber State University next fall. I've already been excepted and it might get paid for if i get FAFSA and a big scholarship!!!!!

Well see what happens =]

Intresting experiment

I found this article on YAHOO! i wonder if it really works... kind of seems like a cool idea... Kerri, your the next one to try it!!!

PARIS (AFP) - Oysters may excite the libido, but there is nothing like a hearty breakfast laced with sugar to boost a woman's chances of conceiving a son, according to a study released Wednesday.

Likewise, a low-energy diet that skimps on calories, minerals and nutrients is more likely to yield a female of the human species, says the study, published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences, Britain's de facto academy of sciences.

Fiona Mathews of the University of Exeter in Britain and colleagues wanted to find out if a woman's diet has an impact on the sex of her offspring.

So they asked 740 first-time mothers who did not know if their unborn foetuses were male or female to provide detailed records of eating habits before and after they became pregnant. The women were split into three groups according to the number calories they consumed per day around the time of conception.

Fifty-six percent of the women in the group with the highest energy intake had sons, compared to 45 percent in the least-well fed cohort.

Beside racking up a higher calorie count, the group who produced more males were also more likely to have eaten a wider range of nutrients, including potassium, calcium and vitamins C, E and B12.

The odds of an XY, or male outcome to a pregnancy also went up sharply "for women who consumed at least one bowl of breakfast cereal daily compared with those who ate less than or equal to one bowl of week," the study reported.

These surprising findings are consistent with a very gradual shift in favor of girls over the last four decades in the sex ratio of newborns, according to the researchers.

Previous research has shown -- despite the rising epidemic in obesity -- a reduction in the average energy uptake in advanced economies. The number of adults who skip breakfast has also increased substantially.

"This research may help to explain why in developed countries, where many young women choose low calorie diets, the proportion of boys is falling," Mathews said.

The study's findings, she added, could point to a "natural mechanism" for gender selection.

The link between a rich diet and male children may have an evolutionary explanation.
For most species, the number of offspring a male can father exceeds the number a female can give birth to. But only if conditions are favourable -- poor quality male specimens may fail to breed at all, whereas females reproduce more consistently.

"If a mother has plentiful resources, then it can make sense to invest in producing a son because he is likely to produce more grandchildren than would a daughter," thus contributing to the survival of the species, explains Mathews.

"However, in leaner times having a daughter is a safer bet."

While the mechanism is not yet understood, it is known from in vitro fertilisation research that higher levels of glucose, or sugar, encourage the growth and development of male embryos while inhibiting female embryos.

When i was little we use to go to the Science Center. One of the things they had for you to watch was the dissection of a cow eye. I always thought it was soo super cool!!! They would let us come and put a glove on and poke it when they were done. Ever since i saw them do it, i have ALWAYS wanted to do it myself!! i had no clue that my dream was going to come true!!!!!

for lab we had to learn about the eye and got to dissect... a cow eye!!! i was soooo excited. the girls at my table are girly and didn't want to touch it so i got to do all the work!!! it was the coolest thing!!! Cutting into it... pulling away the retina.. pulling out the lens.. touching the jelly stuff that i can't remember the name of so i need to study..... I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!! college is the best.

You really should dream cuz it can come true!!!!!!

My other dream is to dissect a human body.... someday ... someday!

RRRRR matey!

The pirate part was a hit!!!! my bestest friends chantel and angel and booka (joslin chantel's daughter) came up and spent the weekend with me. Here are all the pictures we took.. everyone dressed up as a pirate.. we all played pin the eye patch on the pirate.. then we all went on a savenger/treasure hunt around thatcher. Then we all went and hit the pinata..well that didn't go so well since we only spent a dollar on it... and i just realized we never took a picture of our master piece. we made the jolly roger out of tissue paper.. it was very cool.. then we all ate cake and had a dance party!! best party i've ever had!!!!

I'm 20!
